Enable Internet on VMware

The default settings on VMware don't allow the virtual machine to access the internet. To do this, you will need to share you hosts internet with your guest machine's internet.

Instructions

1. Open VMware Player. On the left column, single-click on the machine you want to enable internet on (it should become highlighted with blue).

2. On the blue VMware bar, press Virtual Machine > Virtual Machine Settings.

3. On the left column, click on Network Adapter. Then under Network connection, change Bridged to NAT. Click OK.

Now boot-up into the machine and the internet should work now.

  8. To all those who cannot access their internet:
Instead of NAT, put it to Bridge and check Replicate physical network connection state. It worked for me.
